The Chrysalis Inn & Spa at the Pier | BELLINGHAM, WASHINGTON

The Chrysalis Inn and Spa is a 43,000 sf, 43-room boutique hotel overlooking Bellingham Bay in the historical Fairhaven neighborhood. A full service spa and 42-seat wine bar comprise the Inn.

Completed in April 2001, the Chrysalis Inn provides an environment that reflects the inherent nature of the Northwest region, and is an intimate retreat with inspiration from the waterfront setting and its surroundings. The materials, textures, and forms create a ‘rustic’ elegance that is both natural and sophisticated.

The spaces are made intimate through the use of natural woods; walls painted tan, amber, and sage tones; and rough slate floors. Custom glass lighting supports the overall mood of the inn—natural light streams through windows during the day and a warm, subtle light produces a friendly glow in the evening.
An intimate library / living room off the lobby opens onto an exterior terrace perched above the Bay. A stone fireplace living room and an ecelectic mix of furnishings provide a relaxing experience. Custom copper and stainless steel light pendants and sconces hang in the entry.
